The Colour Sisterhood is emerging as a powerful story of unity and alliance.

By definition sisterhood is "empathy that one woman (or one company of women) might feel for another". The Colour Sisterhood represents a company of down to earth, everyday women who desire to make a difference and make the world a better place - in essence it is a foundation seeking to "place value upon humanity".

The Sisterhood seeks to champion the cause of the orphan child and widow, to come alongside women (near and far) who are facing challenge, and it ultimately seeks to influence nations with the goodness and answers that are to be found in God.

The invitation is not exclusive and is open to any willing heart seeking to bring solution to today's many injustices.
Orphans to Rescue

A large part of our mandate as a Colour Sisterhood is to take care of the orphans and children. As at March 2009 this is being outworked through our partnership with Watoto and Compassion.

Our partnership with Compassion is celebrating our 10th year at Colour 2009 with over 5000 children sponsored through the Colour conference globally.

Our partnership with Watoto is continually expanding as we forge new paths with our friends the Skinners who are taking ground in Uganda. Our intention is to provide and exemplify a united, cohesive and holistic SOLUTION to some of the key issues facing the children and women of Uganda. This is being outworked through our partnership to build a village in Gulu to become home for many rescued and escaped war effected children including child soldiers.

At Colour 2009 we launched a new partnership with Vision Rescue based in Mumbai, India. They work with the street children, providing meals and education for hundreds of children every day. A pressing need for them is a hygenic kitchen where they can prepare the food for these and thousands more that need someone to rescue them. As a Sisterhood we are hoping to raise the funds for this.

The following stories are from women within the COLOUR SISTERHOOD, who saw the need, felt God's heart and responded. With friends and colleagues they stepped into the challenge of raising awareness and finance in their local communities to build homes for orphans and widows in Uganda. We pray that you will be inspired by these wonderful women.
