The Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Ministry are designed to give you solid, practical and life-changing training for successful leadership in a wide range of ministries and occupations. They are known as vocational courses because of their high emphasis on the development of practical skills. All our training happens in the midst of a thriving church, so that you can learn to do ministry in a place where ministry is happening all the time, and under the instruction of proven successful leaders. Over the one, two or more years that you study with us, you can develop the leadership and ministry skills you need to impact your world whilst developing a good grounding in Biblical studies and theology. At the same time, you are also able to develop a range of recognised job skills that are highly sought-after in the market-place.
All students do Core subjects, which prepare you with a foundation of Bible, Theology and leadership necessary for all kinds of ministry. You can then focus your study towards a particular gift or calling by choosing to study in one of the following Streams:
- Pastoral Leadership
- Worship Music
- TV & Media
- DANCE
You can further target your study within your Stream by choosing a Pathway, which provides practical, hands-on training within a specific area of ministry within Hillsong Church.
*Please note some streams run at either City or Hills campus (not both), check Streams & Pathways for latest details. Streams and Subjects run subject to numbers.
The Certificate IV in Ministry is the same course as the first year of the Diploma of Ministry and Advanced Diploma of Ministry. Similarly the Diploma of Ministry is identical to the first two years of the Advanced Diploma of Ministry (See diagram below).
All Hillsong courses are run as full-time and part-time courses. International students are only able to enrol as full-time students.
The study program takes place in a variety of contexts including lecture style classes, group-work, presentations, self-directed learning activities, workshops, tutorials and fieldwork in workplace settings. Assessment methods include written assignments such as reports and journals, oral and written presentations, observation, tests and examinations.
